Buckethead and my blurb on sweep picking

At this very moment, I have just finished listening to Buckethead's song Nottingham Lace, It is a wicked guitar instrumental that shows how Buckethead's music writing has evolved overtime. His skills are totally amazing and he is one of the greats of shred guitar. When I am done here I am going to try to learn more of this song.
You may be a guitar player who is just starting or you have been playing for 30 years, I don't know. I will say this. If you want to play like Buckethead or Yngwie Malmsteen, start learning strum patterns. It will give you control over your playing. It may be boring but it is a start. Also try to lean a bit of country style flat picking. You don't need to go to the guitar store and buy books, if you found this extremely retarded blog, you'll find the info you need. If you find it funny go get help and come back tommorow.
Start working on hammer-ons and pull offs. It will strenghten you fingers which will in the end give you more control. You will have to always be in control of where your pick is on the strings. It is all about upstrokes and down strokes. It will take a lot of practice so start now.
Remember, if you are trying to right good songs, sweeping isn't everything. Playing slow is not bad. It is just good to have some good techniques there when you need them.
I don't know everything but you can check out the most insane sweepers ever on google video. Rusty Cooley is amazing but make sure you check out Yngwie Malmsteen, the father of shred. Check out Buckethead's Enter The Chicken.
